Participants please ensure that you have completed PIWI 1.0 Sessions 1-4 before registering for PIWI 2.0.
PIWI: Parents Interacting with Infants and Toddlers 2.0
PIWI 2.0 includes a virtual, two-day interactive training. Following the live virtual training days, participants will have one week to complete the required online components. These components include watching four pre-recorded videos and completing a fillable graphic organizer for each video (four total). Upon completion of the graphic organizers, participants are required to attend one 75-minute pre-scheduled virtual reflective session, during which video segments and reflections will be discussed with a PIWI reflective facilitator.
Learning Objectives for Day 1 (Session 1)
- Participants will be able to explore secure and safe connections between caregiver and child
- Participants will be able to support quality of interaction between caregiver and child (dyad)
- Participants will develop planning and implementation strategies to support dyad connections
Learning Objectives for Day 2 (Session 2)
- Participants will be able to unpack triadic strategies to support dyad.
- Participants will be able to follow the child’s lead as a strategy to guide the interactions.
- Participants will develop planning and implementation strategies for triadic approaches.
Learning Objectives for Online Modules (Video segments)
- Participants will be able to identify the components of the DOT (Developmental Observation Topic) for home visiting practices
- Participants will be able to reflect upon planning and implementation practices using the PIWI Model.
