This workshop will illuminate the extraordinary capacities of newborns while emphasizing that optimal development unfolds in safe, stable, and nurturing relationships with regulated and attuned adults. Participants will learn about the birth of a parent, emphasizing reorganization and adaptation. Participants will appreciate the developmental agenda of the newborn, while learning about infant behavior and cues. The Newborn Behavioral Observation (NBO) will be highlighted. Through this workshop, participants will deepen their understanding and appreciation for the competencies of newborns.
