Setup Weighted Grade
This document provides detailed instructions on setting up the Weighted Grade feature in the Steams Online Course Registration and Management System. This feature allows you to assign different weights to different types of assignments, thereby affecting the overall course grade calculation.
Weighted grades are based on percentages and not points.
For instance, a quiz may be worth 100 points but be 15% of the students grade, while homework may be worth 500 points but only be 10% of the overall grade. The points do not get added together.
Steps to Set Up Weighted Grades
1. Log into your Steams online account, and click on the "System Settings" tab to extend the menu on the left. Click on the "Account Settings" link.

2. Click the "Weighted Grade Items" link, enter the item name, and click the "Submit" button.
Note: The items will be listed below once you click the "Submit" button.
3. Next, click on the "Grade Scale" link.
4. Enter a minimum score, a maximum score and a letter grade to represent each score.
5. Click on the "Submit" button.
How To Enter Students Grade.
1. Click on the "Student Management" to extend the left menu, then click the "Students" link.
2. Locate the student and click their name or the edit button to access their profile.
3. Click the "Grade Book" link on the student's profile page.
4. Click the "Weighted Grade" button to display the pop-up box.
5. Select the class from the drop-down list.
6. Enter each weighted item percentage, then enter the percentage the student earned.
7. Click the "Save" button to apply the changes.
